Donna BradleySarah McDonald
Donna BradleyDonna started off her career training as a professional dancer in Dublin and London at the age of 16. When she arrived home from her travels, she trained in the Gaiety School of Acting Dublin. After graduating, she started being cast in various roles in short films and theatre productions including Company D, working under Dave Scott. Having spent the Summer of 2010 in California training under Carey Scott, Donna continues to audition in Ireland and has recently been cast in her second feature film, Fractional.
Andrew BlaikieMichael Grant
Andrew BlaikieAndy hails from Australia and has been acting in Ireland for a number of years. He originally started out as a stage actor and has appeared in many Shakespearean plays including The Tempest and The Winters Tale. He had appeared in a number of Irish short films before landing the main male role of Michael Grant in Shackled. He has since returned to Australia where he is continuing his training as an actor.
Gerry ShanahanJacob Lowry
Gerry ShanahanGerry has appeared in over 80 productions since he started acting in 2001. His TV credits include Cracking Crime, In Cold Blood and Maru for TG4 and Ireland’s top soap Fair City where he has a recurring role of Maurice Twomey. Gerry’s film credits include award-winning films such as Portrait, Tart, Omagh, The Solution, Francis, Portrait of a Zombie and Colour from the Dark. One of his short screenplays, Voices, has been produced and is now in post-production.
Ruth McIntyreMargaret Bell
Ruth McIntyreRuth was trained in acting throughout her schooling but took a surprise turn kicking off her professional career when she joined an international pop band, which she toured with for 5 years. At 21, Ruth returned to study and her first love, acting, studying with various tutors in both Ireland and LA. Throughout this time, Ruth gained screen experience on a variety of feature films, short films and commercials, all while keeping involved with theatre and music.
Brian FortuneJim McDonald
Brian FortuneBrian moved into acting in his mid thirties. It was something he always wanted to try his hand at but never got around to, so in his 30’s he went to the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin and signed up for an Introduction to Acting course. After the first class he was hooked. Brian continued training and soon found himself getting cast in low budget short films and features and his career has gone from strength to strength ever since. He plays Sarah’s father, Jim McDonald in Shackled.
Vivienne ConnollyAoife Collins
Vivienne ConnollyVivienne started her career as a model when she was 19. After many successful years in the fashion industry, Brendan O’Carroll asked her to be in his play The Course which ran in The Olympia and The Everyman in Cork. In 2009 she decided to relight her passion for acting and do an intensive training course with the Irish Film Academy. She plays Doctor Aoife Collins in Shackled – a good friend of Michael Grant.
